DedupeGuard — How to use

A quick guide to finding and merging duplicate records on your monday.com board, safely and reversibly.

Not listed · development paused. DedupeGuard is not listed on the monday.com marketplace, and we are not offering installs to new accounts right now (see About). This page describes how the app works.

Install

Installs are not offered to new accounts while development is paused. On an account where DedupeGuard is installed, it reads your board to scan and writes to it only when you approve a merge or undo one; the privacy policy lists every permission it requests.

Add the review view to a board

1. Open the board with the records you want to de-duplicate.
2. Click the + next to your view tabs → Apps → Installed → DedupeGuard.
3. The review view opens and automatically scans the board.

Review duplicates

• DedupeGuard groups likely duplicates and shows a confidence score and why each pair matched (name, email, phone, company).
• Use the sensitivity slider to tighten or loosen matching.
• Tabs let you see Auto-merge eligible (high confidence) and Needs review (borderline) separately.

AI Match Review (for the borderline pairs)

• On any Needs review pair, click Ask AI to review. An AI reads both records and tells you whether they're the same real-world entity, which record to keep as master, and why — in one plain sentence.
• It runs on monday's own AI (its built-in Models API), with no third-party AI involved. Only the pair's name, email, phone and company are ever looked at — never the whole board — and they travel over TLS through our stateless relay (which stores nothing; see the privacy policy) to monday's Models API. The AI calls are currently billed to us, the publisher — not to your account's AI credits.
• The AI advises; you still click Merge. If it isn't sure, it says "needs a human" rather than guessing — it can never approve a merge on its own.

Merge — safely and reversibly

• Pick which record to keep (the master). DedupeGuard fills only its empty fields from the duplicate — existing values are never overwritten.
• The absorbed record is moved to a "DedupeGuard · Merged" group, not deleted; where the app has the updates:write scope, an audit note is also written.
• Nothing merges without your approval.

Undo

Any merge can be reversed: the absorbed record moves back to its original group with its data intact.

Re-check the board

Click Rescan board any time to re-check for duplicates.
