Why it's different

monday's built-in merge is exact-match only and can overwrite data. DedupeGuard fixes both.

✦ AI Match Review

For the pairs that aren't clear-cut — a nickname vs. a full name, a shared phone but different email — an AI judges whether they're really the same person or business, picks which record to keep, and says why in one plain sentence. It runs on monday's own AI via our stateless relay (no third-party AI, nothing stored — see the privacy policy), and the AI calls are currently billed to us, not your credits; you still approve every merge.

Real fuzzy matching

Catches "Dana Cohen" vs "dana cohen", name+phone vs name+email, Gmail dot/plus variants, and different phone formats — with a confidence score and a reason for every match.

Never overwrites

The record you keep is filled only on its empty fields. Existing values are always preserved.

Nothing is deleted

The duplicate is moved to a "DedupeGuard · Merged" group, not deleted — and, where the app has the updates:write scope, an audit note records exactly what happened.

Fully reversible

Any merge can be undone in one click: the record moves back to its original group, data intact.

How it works

  1. Add the DedupeGuard view to any board with name / email / phone columns.
  2. It scans the board and lists likely duplicates, each with a confidence score and why it matched.
  3. You pick which record to keep; it fills the gaps and sets the duplicate aside — reversibly.
Honest status: DedupeGuard is real, tested software — 221 automated tests across the matching engine, the monday adapter, the app server and the board view — but it is not listed on the monday.com marketplace (the submission was declined in September 2026) and development is paused, so we are not offering installs to new accounts right now. The recording above is the actual board view running on a real board, not a mockup. Questions or a problem? Email us — a real person answers.
